HOW TO LEARN MEXICAN BALLET FOLKLORICO ZAPATEADO Did you ever wondered how to dance ballet folklorico? One of the steps you will first learn how to dance is zapateado. There are 3 different types of basic zapateado step. The standard zapateado, the zapateado de punta which is performed on the ball of the feet and the zapateado plano, which is performed making full shoe-sole-contact. HOW TO TEACH BALLET FOLKLORICO TO TODDLERS
Ballet Folklorico is the interpretation of mexican traditional dances. Mexican Folk Dancing represents dancistic anthropology and it is recognized as a world dance genre. In essence, Ballet Folklorico represents Mexico’s traditions and culture through dances that originated through centuries of Mexican history. With this said, teaching Ballet Folklorico to children is not just dressing them in long skirts or big Sombreros and have them stomp their feet away. There is a certain level of responsibility that every instructor should take upon themselves before teaching toddlers. Is a toddler class just catering to expose kids to dance and it is a form of recreational activity close to a “child care hour”? Or is it structured and academically sound as it should. Santa Barbara Bowl Mariachi Concert
This performance was held at the Santa Barbara Bowl featuring award winning mexican singer Pedro Fernandez and his Mariachi who entertained the roaring crowd with a very interactive show. There where other Mariachis like Mariachi Los Toros and Mariachi Estrella de Mexico and Ballet Folklorico LEYENDA Dancing to their live interpretation of traditional mexican music classics like "La Negra" and even songs from Veracruz like "Tilingo". During the closing song, a champion roper charro performer dazzled the crowd with intricate rope tricks and all the mariachi groups played at the same time the last 2 songs in which LEYENDA dance company can be seen in this video giving the grand finale to this amazing evening of Mexican culture and music regional mexicana.
